As I write this, I have just woken up to find myself drenched in sweat. The past few days have been sweltering. The lack of air condition in my apartment makes these conditions near unbearable. I am sure when this apartment was built in the 60s or 70s, air condition was not a necessity... and for the most part, it is not. So far I found the summer average to be in the low 80s ( the nights low 60s). But, you get those couple days out of the month, where global warming kicks your ass, and reminds you that this state may be floating off in the near future. I may find myself leaving the apartment soon, to find an establishment where I can walk/sit in some damn air conditioning. Grocery stores always seem to be chilly....haha. I just feel bad for Roxie and her coat of fur. Poor, Poor, Roxie :(
LONNA WEEKEND
So this weekend, my friend Lonna (originally from Texas, and now resides in Utah) came to visit me. I have already mentioned the Thursday activity, Now, I shall wrap up the weekend. I worked all day Friday, I planned on leaving early so I could entertain my guest. But, Friday was one of the few days where I had work to do , pretty much all day. So, Lonna stopped by and had lunch with me at work. She, left and I finished out the day. We had plans to meet up with another group of friends, Chris and Ashlin ( who are visiting from Texas), for dinner that evening. Lonna really wanted mexican food, since the mexican food in Utah is lacking...haha. I chose El Compadre off Sunset. Great restaurant with a great vibe. It was crazy packed, however, but we decided to sit out the wait. We Finally get seated about an hour later, and we all agree that it was worth the wait. After dinner we decide to call it an early night, because we know we have a full day Saturday.
Saturday was an exhausting day. We began the day by going to Venice Beach. When it is this hot outside, the beach is one of the few outdoor places you can go and tolerate the heat. We walked around a little, had a little meal on the sand, got a little tan, and decided we were ready to jet out of there. On the car ride back to Hollywood, we had a funny conversation about how we found it so odd that we used to date ( This was about 6 years ago, haha). We both agreed how we were not attracted to each-other at all! Lonna was pretty much my first serious girlfriend, ever. But, at this point, NEVER in a million years could we ever find ourselves as love interests, haha. ANYWAYS, we arrived home, cleaned up and headed to what we thought would be an awesome movie premiere. We went to go watch the red carpet for the Wall-E movie premiere. I figured that would be a nice touristy thing to take her to, and I have yet to go to one myself. So we wait outside of the greek theatre ( which by the way, is in Griffith Park, an amazing and beautiful getaway located inside the city and a couple miles from my place), for a while. Finally the limos start arriving. I didn't recognize a lot of the stars because they were all kids from the Disney Channel. I only got to see a few of the stars I cared about (such as Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Smith, Fred Willard, Brad Garrett, Jeff Garland ), before we decided it was too hot and too damn boring for us to stay. haha. We take off and head home, where we rest for about 30 minutes before heading over to the UCB theatre for "Seth and Ed's Puppet Talk Show". A very funny show featuring Ed Helms. It was almost midnight after the show, so we decide to call it a night since Lonna had an early flight. We sleep for a little bit and wake up at 5:30am to go to the airport. I drop her off, come back home and pass out. I wake up for a couple minutes, and pass back out. I wake up again and write this blog you have now finished reading...
I need to get out of the house ASAP... I know of some fun activities going on, but they do not begin until a little later... maybe if I will be sweating anyways, I will just ride my bike for a little while and make it purposeful sweat.
