Try Not to Die Like a Dog.

Last night was the Red House Cinema presentation of "O' Lucky Man."

The Story of a young man trying to become a success in the United Kingdom during the early 70s.  I am not going to go into a lengthy review, but it was a great film.  At A running time of nearly 3 hours, it is not your typical comedic format.  And although, the film was lengthy, I cannot think of any moments I would have cut out.

Malcom McDowell plays the "title" character, Travis.  This film was released the same year as A Clockwork Orange.  Alan Price ( of Animals fame ) provides the soundtrack to the film, done in the style of a greek chorus.  At one point he becomes involved in the story crossing over the diegetic sound.  Actors show up throughout the film playing often times, multiple characters.  Even an instance of an actor playing another characters entirely in black face.

The film was quite humorous.  It reminded me a lot of the film/musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.  Of Course, sans musical numbers... Although the film did incorporate Price's music quite nicely.

I highly recommend this one, pretty much for any filmgoer.  Just make sure to take breaks if you are known to become antsy!
